THE ROLE

Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in payroll and administration? We are looking for a reliable and service-oriented individual to join our team in a key administrative support role.

The Payroll and HR Administrator will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, administering employee benefits and providing general HR administrative support including recruitment support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, numbers and systems, and takes pride in accuracy and organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process bi-weekly payroll using Payworks.
• Administer employee benefits, enrolments and changes.
• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR function.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Previous payroll and administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with Payworks is required, as well as excellent working knowledge of payroll processes and employment standards.
• Experience with employee benefits administration is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• This position requires the candidate to lift up to 25 lb, bend, climb stairs, and work at a computer desk for extended periods of time.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Seasonal Potting Shed Clerk to join our Root Cellar team! As a Potting Shed Clerk, you will be responsible for caring for our Christmas trees, ensuring overall appearance of both outside and inside potting shed displays, and providing excellent customer service. 

• Water, trim, and care for Christmas trees and other plant products. 
• Maintain clean, tidy, and well-stocked displays.
• Unload deliveries and restock merchandise and ensure correct product rotation.
• Greet and assist customers with Christmas tree selection and loading onto cars.
• Follow all safety protocols, including lifting techniques and protective equipment use.
• Maintain awareness of weather conditions and work safely in varying outdoor environments.

• Provide superior customer service.
• Be willing and available to work openings, mid-days, and closings both weekdays and weekends, 30 hours per week.
• This is a temporary seasonal position from November 18 to December 24.

• Be willing and available to work openings, mid-days, and closings both weekdays and weekends, 16 to 30 hours per week.
